The Legend of "Pajo"
Long ago, our barangay was the only place in Mactan Island where several trees resembling mango trees grow. These trees bear fruits like mangoes but are smaller and don't ripen. The fruits taste very sour and can be used as spice in cooking viands, especially fish. These trees are called PAJO.
During ancient times, people would say they are going to the place where plenty of "Pajo trees" grow. The name "PAJO" became popular through generations, and thus our place became known as Barangay Pajo, named after this rare fruit-bearing tree.
